Why Choose KidLink?
Discover the benefits of working with a therapeutic foster care company and learn how we set ourselves apart from traditional foster care. KidLink offers specialized training, support and resources for our foster parents to help them provide the best possible care for children with unique needs.
How we create connections in the home
KidLink Community Services links kids with hope, healing and trust through the development of meaningful relationships. Our staff and foster parents are dedicated to understanding the needs and strengths of each child in order to provide the services and support that will guide them in reaching their goals. Our therapists meet with children in the foster home to assist in identifying what will help them feel safe. KidLink therapists facilitate children’s engagement with biological parents and guardians to nurture the reunification process.
Our therapists develop individualized treatment plans to help youth and their guardians address the behavioral, emotional and mental health concerns that can occur from the challenges leading to and from being placed in foster care. When a child transitions to permanency KidLink Community Services continues to provide in-home services to ensure connections stay strong and healing can continue.
KidLink Community Services recruits foster parents and offers the training to be equipped to provide a safe, stable and therapeutic environment for children and youth that have been removed from their homes. Our training prepares staff and foster parents to support children and youth as they begin the healing process. Our therapeutic foster parents link children and youth to hope, healing and trust.
How Our Team Works with Families
Our therapists work in the home with children and foster parents to address the challenges that can prevent healing. Along with Case Managers, they support children, foster parents and biological families in the home and community. They attend court, facilitate visitation and participate in Child and Family Team Meetings partnering with the Department of Children’s Services to promote reunification and permanency.
Our Existing Network & Certifications
The KidLink program was established to extend the reach of both academies’ comprehensive behavioral healthcare services to the foster care community. Oak Plains and Natchez Trace both have long histories of providing comprehensive behavioral healthcare to boys and girls who are at-risk or are struggling with extensive mental health issues. Each facility is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and the Joint Commission on Accreditation on Healthcare, both of which recognize a commitment to measuring quality and standards of care.
Come work with KidLink
It takes a dedicated team to do this work. From providing training and support to foster parents, to ensuring our therapeutic models and services are incorporating the latest updates in behavioral health, our team is committed to the work of stabilizing and strengthening the futures of Tennessee’s youth. If you’re just as committed to that work, KidLink Community Services could be a great place to continue your career.
Become a Foster Parent
Foster care is built on strong foster parents. Our trainers specialized in helping foster parents identify their unique parenting strengths while fortifying their knowledge of the tough issues and barriers facing children and teens today. They also train parents to deal with the complexities of trauma and mental health issues faced by some youth in foster care. If you are interested in opening your home to a young person in need, we can help you start the process.
